On the evening of June 17, 2019, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred in Changning County, Yibin, Sichuan. After the earthquake, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital immediately activated the 5G urban emergency rescue system. With the support of 5G technology, it continued to conduct many remote first aid, remote consultation, and remote medical training. This was the first case in the world where 5G technology was used in disaster medical rescue.
